Here’s what people ask most.
Will couriers actually use it?
Yes. The Boxx is designed for standard courier workflows and requires nothing special from the driver. Deeper integrations with major couriers are on the roadmap, including signature opt-in so drivers can leave signature-required deliveries securely.
What if my package doesn't fit?
The Boxx holds 3 to 5 packages in the top 90 to 95 percent of shipping sizes. A larger XL model is available. A couch won't fit. Almost everything else will.
What happens if something is stolen anyway?
With Arculus Protect, anything delivered into your Boxx is insured and we handle the claim directly. With Arculus Complete, we cover anything intended for your Boxx, even if the courier left it outside.
Does it work for apartments?
The Boxx is designed for single-family homes and porches today. Public and multi-unit Arculus solutions are on the roadmap.
How is Arculus different from other lockboxes?
A box is easy. That's why there are dozens of them. Arculus is an ecosystem: hardware plus the software brain behind it. Courier auto-recognition means no setting codes with individual delivery drivers. Real-time tracking puts every package and every courier in one dashboard. Insurance actually pays out. A community theft map shows activity in your area. Other boxes hold packages. Arculus manages the entire delivery.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Arculus works with our Free tier: core smart features, courier access, and delivery alerts. Arculus Protect ($9.99/mo) adds package insurance to your Arculus Boxx. Arculus Complete ($14.99/mo) covers everything intended for your Arculus Boxx, even packages left outside it.
How is the Boxx powered?
The Boxx is designed for efficient everyday power use, and a solar option is in development so it can run fully off-grid.
How hard is installation?
Place it, secure it, connect it to the app. The AR Hub lets you preview placement on your porch before the Boxx even arrives.
Is my delivery data private?
Your data stays yours. And privacy goes deeper on our roadmap: soon you'll be able to ship to your Arculus Boxx number instead of your home address, like a P.O. box on your porch. Retailers never need your physical address.
What if I move?
Leave your Arculus Boxx installed for the next resident; they activate it with a tap. Keep your subscription and get your new Arculus Boxx at a reduced cost. No reshipping, no waste.
When will my Arculus Boxx ship?
We're in pre-production with a production-ready design and a secured manufacturing partner. Hardware is hard, and we've built buffer into our delivery timeline. We'll report progress in backer updates, good or bad. Estimated delivery date: October 2026.
What does my pledge actually fund?
Manufacturing and delivering the first Arculus Boxxes, and the courier integration that launches a category. You're not just protecting your packages. You're first in line for the future of home delivery.
What about signature-required deliveries?
Deeper courier integrations are on the roadmap, including signature opt-in so drivers can leave signature-required packages securely in your Arculus Boxx. No more redelivery slips.
Can I use the app without buying an Arculus Boxx?
Yes. Arculus Free gives you package tracking and theft insights for your area with no hardware required. It's the easiest way to see what's happening on your block before you commit.
Is it weatherproof? How is it installed?
Yes. The Arculus Boxx is built to live outside, exposed to the elements, 365 days a year. The shell is made from a rugged polyethylene that's fully waterproof, and every closure point is completely sealed, so rain, snow, and heat stay on the outside where they belong. Installation is flexible by design, because your front door isn't the same as your neighbor's. Arculus supports both semi-permanent and non-permanent setups. You can bolt and anchor it directly to the ground, we've got hardware for both concrete and wood surfaces, or, if you're renting or don't want to drill, use our non-invasive cabling system that secures the Boxx to virtually any home front door with zero permanent modifications. Full step-by-step details, including which method fits your setup, are in our Installation section.
Is the warranty tied to the subscription?
Yes, and here's how it breaks down. The free version of Arculus is app-only: package tracking, access to your local-area heat map, and more. Since there's no hardware involved, there's nothing to warranty at that tier. Once you have an Arculus Boxx, your hardware is covered under warranty for as long as your subscription is active. That covers defects and normal wear and tear, the everyday stuff that comes with a device working hard at your door every day. And here's the part backers love: if a would-be thief tries to break into your Boxx and damages it in the attempt, that damage is covered. What's not covered is intentional mishandling, misuse, or attempts by the owner to force the box open. In short: we've got your back against defects and against the bad guys. Just not against a crowbar in your own hand.
Will the Boxx ever be cheaper than it is on Kickstarter?
No. This is the best deal we will ever offer, full stop. The Kickstarter price will never be repeated, and it's by far the lowest-cost way to get the complete Arculus system. Here's the honest nuance: someday there may be a hardware-only retail price with a lower sticker. But that number does not represent what you get as a Kickstarter backer, because it will never again include what you get here. Backing today gets you the Arculus Boxx, the subscription, and Arculus Vanguard, which gives you free major hardware upgrades for life. On top of that, Arculus 500 and Kickstarter backers get every major hardware upgrade release at cost, forever. Back now, and you're not just buying the cheapest Boxx. You're locking in the only deal that keeps paying you back.
